Lloyds TSB Insurance have launched a new bespoke buildings and contents policy aimed at customers in the Saga bracket age group of 50 plus.
The Personal Home Planis launched on the back of recent research conducted by Lloyds TSB that suggests that as many as 40% of customers would welcome an insurance product tailored to their needs.
Incredibly 64% respondents from the survey also considered that their insurance premiums have been subsidising other policyholders who make regular claims against the insurer.
The policy includes cover for fire, theft, flood and subsidence as standard, but then allows customers to pick-and-mix any combination of 21 options.
These include up to £15,000 of cover for contents in a garage or shed, and “matching items” cover that enables a policyholder to claim for an entire three piece suite if only a sofa is damaged.
The policy will also offer a no claim bonus to clients who remain claim free for ten years, the discount of 50% can also be protected.
Ten years is a long time to build up a no claims bonus, but at least it shows some good intent.
