The Uk’s company car drivers have been attacked in three different reports of late, earning the ignominius label of being the most dangerous drivers in the country.
BetterDrivingPlease.com owner Andrew McGavin is concerned that recent corporate manslaughter legislation could lead to as many as one in two company car owners facing prosecution at some point.
‘What that means in practice is if an executive driving on business is using a handheld mobile phone and kills someone, the MD or CEO could be prosecuted for not giving them a hands free kit and having a relevant policy in place. Responsible business leaders need to take action immediately to educate their drivers about the need for safer driving and the consequences if they break the rules.’
Other recent surveys by RAC and Vansunited both found that company car owners are deemed the most dangerous drivers on Britain’s roads.
Dangerous drivers can be reported to BetterDrivingPlease.com where bad drivers can be named and shamed and car registration numbers will be published.
