Consolidator Jelf Buys Up Brokers

John Williams - Friday 04.04.08, 16:11pm

Insurance Consolidator Jelf has been busy acquiring brokers this week. On Tuesday the group announced the acquisition of Kent and Sussex based brokers Argyll for £9.94million.

The following day came the announcement that West Midlands broker Clarke Roxburgh would also be joining the group, for a figure of £18.3million.

The two brokers will increase the Bristol based Jelfs GWP 35% to £242million. Clarke Roxburgh accounts for £46million of this growth and Argyll £21million.

Jelf have been searching the market to grow their business since private equity firm 3iQPE purchased a stake in the business in February.

A spokesman for Jelf said that the purchases represent another “hub of growth around which we will consolidate small scale acquisitions. This is entirely in line with our buy and build strategy.”
