An innovative low cost approach to insuring provisional licence holders while learning to drive has been announced by the award winning Marmalade company in conjunction with the high street motor accessories giant Halfords. The product could save young learners and their parents hundreds of pounds as well as worry and heartache.
Provisional Marmalade and Halfords have joined forces to offer cover to provisional drivers, costing just £3 per day for fully comprehensive cover on a car belonging and separately insured by family or friend.
The monthly cost to take out this insurance will be between £90 and £99.50 and does not effect any other insurance on the car as it is a seperate policy.
Research earlier this year suggested that many learner drivers were taking a massive risk by not being insured when learning in friends and family cars, due to the high costs involved.
This new product is designed to be both affordable and flexible and leaves no excuse for provisional drivers to take a chance on driving in a car that they are not insured for.
