SwiftCover Iggy Pop TV ad misleading

John Williams - Monday 23.02.09, 13:56pm

Motor insurance business SwiftCover has come under fire following its current TV advertising campaign, reportedly costing the company £25million. The advertisements feature ancient rocker Iggy Pop prancing around topless saying “I got it Swiftcovered. Do it. Get A Life. Get Swiftcovered.

However what the advert fails to point out, is that the company does not insure musicians!

Several musicians have been tempted by Iggy Pops inclusion in the adverts, only to refused cover because of their profession. When one would be client was turned down he asked about Iggy Pop and was told His case is different because he is American.
