When planning a holiday it is vital not to go without travel insurance. The cost of medical bills in foreign countries can ruin even a short break, according to Mike Powell, a general insurance consultant at Defaqto.

By not making due arrangements before setting off on a holiday trip, not only do underinsured parties find themselves spoiling a well earnt break, but illness or accident can also leave them with exuberant costs to pays.
