Travel firms that sell Connected Travel Insurance, that is insurance sold alongside a holiday to you and me, have until 1st January 2009 to apply for authorisation with the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
In a regulation set last year companies that do not authorise with FSA, can either become an agent for an authorised firm or cease selling travel insurance.
The FSA regulation is designed to help consumers, by ensuring it’s members receive full and adequate training to assess clients needs and offer the best product to suit those requirements. Companies offering authorised advice also need to have a system in place that allows customers redress if things go wrong.
Consumers are requested to seek out FSA authorised travel companies.
If you have the adequate insurance in place ski holidays are now among the most desirable of all vacations.
