The British Insurance Brokers Federation (BIBA) has warned hard up householders not to neglect home and contents insurance policies, following a survey that suggests an alarming one in five consumers have either cancelled or failed to renew cover in recent months.
Graeme Trudgill of BIBA suggests that home insurance covers almost all of a person’s worldly possessions and simply should not be overlooked regardless of the circumstances.
“Of all the insurances that you do choose, the household ones and the motor ones are an absolute must, so we really do recommend that you buy them,” Trudgill said.

It’s very tempting though isn’t it? When was the last time your house burnt down?? Probably never, although if it did and you weren’t covered, good luck paying the old mortage and the rent on your new home.
