Performers due to appear at The Big Gig Weekend music festival in Shepton Mallett at the end of September, have been covered against the possibility of Swine Flu causing difficulties during the three day event.
Insurance company Insureand Go have committed to offering the unique policy worth£1million, offering some protection against the possibility of the epidemic causing problems for the performers at the music festival.
Boyzone, James Morrison, Katherine Jenkins and Diversity are among the star names appearing at the event, which promoter Kevin Newton has called the West country’s mainstream Glastonbury.
The unusual specialist insurance policy is believed to be unique, but may become more commonplace as the swine flu epidemic continues to spread worldwide.
